This series contains files relating to the provision of welfare services in the Tennant Creek region. Files contain applications for welfare assistance, such as age pension, service pension, emergency housing, child endowment payments and medical services. There are also client files relating to child neglect, foster placements, adoptions and arrangements for out of home care or institutionalisation. Client files may include copies of police statements and welfare officers' investigations The series also contains files relating to administrative arrangements, Community Welfare programs (such as the supporting parents and the Centralian children's holiday camp) and reports relating to the Tennant Creek Family Home which provided short and long term accommodation for a small number of children.
